Through the Lens of Love

Self Portraiture as Self Compassion Practice:

You’re invited to a day retreat to explore self portraiture as a gateway to cultivating greater self love and compassion for all the parts of you.

You will learn how to make beautiful self portraits by looking at yourself with tenderness and appreciation.

You’ll create self portraits that you’ll really feel good about.

You will learn how looking at yourself through a loving lens changes your entire interaction with everyone else around you.

You’ll discover ways of shifting negative self talk into positive and affirming reframing language that will support your seeing yourself and everyone around you with greater kindness and compassion.

You’ll have tools you can use every day to shift the way you live and look at yourself, others, and the way you photograph.

You’ll learn to make self portraits you like and face the camera with more ease, fun and dare I say LOVE!

My intention is to help you learn how you can use the act of the humble selfie or self portrait as a way to explore your identity, including ALL your parts, with greater compassion and authentic self love.

The day will include:

  • Exercises that explore self portraiture (using a phone is A-OK!) as a somatic experience for healing and insight

  • Contemplative processes

  • Loving kindness practices

  • Deep relaxation practices

  • Journaling

  • Visioning

  • Post-retreat practices for ongoing exploration on your own
